Ingredients:
- 150g almond flour
- 150g powdered sugar
- 110g egg whites aged
- 30g granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Gel food coloring optional
- Buttercream or ganache filling of your choice
Instructions:
Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together in a bowl
In a separate bowl, beat aged egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar and vanilla extract, beating until stiff peaks form
Fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites until a smooth batter forms
Add food coloring if desired
Transfer the batter to a piping bag with a round tip and pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Tap the baking sheet to remove air bubbles and let the macarons sit for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms on top
Preheat your oven to 300F 150C and bake the macarons for 12-15 minutes
Let them cool completely on the baking sheet before carefully removing them
Match up similar-sized macaron shells and sandwich them together with your choice of filling
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 24 hours before enjoying
Serve and enjoy your homemade macarons!
